The town of Waterbury is located on the shores of the Winooski River, in the Green Mountains, in North Central Vermont. Waterbury was founded in 1763 under a grant from King George III. Waterbury is surrounded by farmland and ski resort areas. One of the most scenic roads in Vermont, Route 100, runs through Waterbury.

Ben & Jerry's Factory Tours
Come enjoy our fun, educational and guided ice cream factory tour. You'll see a moo-vie, get a birdseye view of our production room and sample flavors of the day. Tours are 30 minutes long. Open year round; tours offered in June 9am - 5pm every 20 minutes; July /August tours 9am - 8 pm every 10 minutes; September / October tours 9am - 6pm, every 15 minutes.

Biking in Waterbury
Mountain views, rivers, farm pastures, historic villages and shops will greet the cyclists on this loop which follows Routes 100 and 108 from Waterbury to Stowe. An alternate route is available on route 12 to Montpelier.

Cold Hollow Cider Mill
A working apple cider mill that hosts 200,000 guests a year. Watch the apples being pressed into cider. In addition the mill has its own specialty bakery. Although apple delicacies dominate, a variety of taste-tempters are available. Located on Route 100 just north of Waterbury.

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters
Support is given to a myriad of organizations in Vermont, the USA, and the world. In addition to charities, the company supports libraries, religious organizations, schools, counseling centers and community food-shelves. Rock of Ages Granite Quarry
Self-guided quarry tours are available May 1 - October 31 Monday - Saturday 8:30am - 5pm; Sunday noon - 5pm. Special fall foliage hours include Sundays 8:30am - 5:30pm. Check out the displays in the Visitors Center and then walk to the Historic Rock of Ages Quarry, located behind the Visitors Center. The walkway to the quarry features a snack bar and picnic area. See the mammoth waste piles of granite left from the turn of the century. Look into the quarry and also view the wooden derricks once used to lift titan blocks from the quarry depths. Our Manufacturing Plant is also available for self-guided tours. Open year round Monday - Friday 8am - 3:30pm except holidays and vacation periods.

Shelburne Museum and Farm
The Shelburne Museum offers tours from April through December. Daily tours are offered at 1 pm, which allow visitors to visit six selected buildings that display folk sculpture, furniture, American painting, quilts and much more. Tours begin at the Museum Store at 1 pm every day, except on major holidays.

Shimmering Glass (Glass blowing)
Shimmering Glass Studio, where the fine craft of stained glass creation culminates in Tiffany-style lamps, mirrors, frames and custom window treatments as individual as you are.

Stowe Ski Resort
One of the best known ski resorts in the world, Stowe is also one of the most picturesque. The town's image is always centered on its classic New England white church steeple, but the town stretches along the roadside up to Mount Mansfield, with one classic building after another along the way.
